Sweet October

So today was another Family Day. We took a drive up to Folsom Premium Outlets, and I found some killer deals at the Quiksilver outlet. 75% off clearance prices on some cute Roxy Separates. It was all mostly summer of course, but my total bill was $30 for a total of 4 s/s tops, and 6 pairs of short bottoms. Nothing was over $3.75 a piece! What a steal! Most of it was very lax and casual wear, but I bought two pairs of nice quality twill cotton shorts in white and purple that I can bring into Winter with some cute tights! Here's pictures of my outfit today, hence the title, Sweet October because by the time the sun had set driving home today the bright orange yellows reminded me of how sweet our season will be coming to an end.  Our days are still sweet and tepid here in Northern California until our cold winter is due to arrive and before we change the clocks.   I liked the way the red and fuscia blocks of color reminded me of sweet valentine and it resonated nicely with the day.

Laying on the Lace

I'm a fan and lover of lace.  It's delicate demure nature just resounds with ultra femininity which I love.  Maybe it's the hopeless romantic in me.    So when it made a comeback this year, I was super excited.
Today was a super fun day planned with my beloved "Big Sis".  She started out as my volunteer "big-sis" when I was 8 years old, but we've been able to maintain and grow a strong sisterhood relationship for over 25 years!  To celebrate our birthdays in October, we decided to indulge ourselves for mani/pedi's and lunch at a cute victorian inspired tea house called Lisa's Tea Treasures in Campbell, CA.  Long story short, last night when I was searching my closet to have the perfect "girls day/tea time" outfit.  This is what I came up with.  Practically every component of my outfit had some kind of lace, and at first I thought it was a bit much, but I liked that it turned out to make a bold but feminine statement.  My pearl bib necklace and Vintage Lace Cuff from Stella & Dot really brought the clothing pieces together.   Below are pictures of that very cute and splendid and scrumptous afternoon with my big sis.

My Birthday Splurge

Okay, I just had to post this because this shows you how "bi-polar" I can be with my shopping habits.  Here's a picture of my newest purse for the Fall Season.  It's a Badgley Mischka Cherise Satchel in Pewter.  It was $149 at Marshalls, $449 regular retail, but still a mighty pretty penny.  I couldn't resist!  Iactually saw it last week and had a delayed reaction.  I was afraid it was gone, but luckly it was marked down from $199 to $149.  Saved $50 bucks!   Leather purses and shoes are my weakness!

Oversized Pants

I like the oversized pants Trend Report from WhoWhatWhere.com today.  It's a nice change from all the skinny craze!

Anticipating the comeback of wide legs, here's my listing on ebay for a new cute pair of Olive Green Wide Leg Courduroys!  Size Small.

Fall Trend - Python Print

Python Print is a notable print this season.  I remember owning a pair of python print strappy cork wedges back in '99.  I love how fashion keeps evolving.   Python print is seductive, intoxicating, and edgy especially when combined with metallic.  I found an awesome pair of gold python stilletos, genuine leather made in Brazil by ALDO.  If these were just a 1/2 size bigger, they'd be mine!  For Sale on Ebay:
Here's my listing:

Sunday Fashion Findz

The family and I started our day early since my kids' dad wanted to go to Kohls to buy some work shirts.  He tried to go on his own, but  eager to go shopping for any reason    "I want to go.  I want to check out the  new Jennifer Lopez line".   I did like some of the sihouettes for her line.  The garment construction and quality was pretty consistent with other Kohl's collections, average.  I saw a lot of blush pink and cream colors, and as I hunched, I saw a pair of rayon pants that were reminicent the "MC Hammer" pants sihlouette of the early 90s!  Although the line was mostly cute, I didn't purchase. amy JLo. Average prices for a top were $35.00 on sale.  When you're a shopper like me, hmmm....a little too much for my liking, maybe on a day I feel like splurging.   But for the same $35 bucks I bought  a shawl like layering piece, a pair of lace pattered stirrup hoisery, jeanlike leggings, and a rust colored faux fur puffy jacket!

My lookbook.nu image to the right is what I wore today.  Thanks for looking!

Why Blog?

I know there's aleaready a million or more fashion bloggers out there, but though my process of trying to figure out what it is that is my talent, and trying to nuture and foster that creative spirit, I've decided to start a blog and give my two fashion cents ;)!

I've always loved clothes, textiles, colors, and accessories.  Due to the recession, and material sacrafices I've had to made since I've had kids, I found myself checking out my local thrift store and a surprise to find nice quality clothing for seriously 1/2 the price I spend on my starbucks mocha.  I realized that we have so much abundance, that even retailers end up donating overstock items which are usually unworn and new.  So eventhough I used to be a bit of a snob of when it came to having to always buy something new from the mall, I've come to find that I have just as much fun, even more when at the thrift store.  As for the stale used clothes smell that usually comes along with it, give it a wash or a dry clean "et voila!" problem solved!  Some labels that I've found in the past year since I've stared shopping there: Dolce & Gabana, Anna Sui, Moschino, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Forever 21, Roxy, Armani Exhange, Free People, Theory, Zara, Nicole Miller, Diane VonFurstenberg and the list goes on.  Seriously, I wish I could say that I had the income to be able to shop these luxurious brands and to be so fortunate and just give them away.

So here's my blog, thanks for taking the time to read it!  I also sell items I find on Ebay, http://myworld.ebay.com/divinefindz707.
